Continuing with my current theme of advice my mum gave me, this week I thought I would remind you that too many cooks spoil the broth. This has always seemed sensible to me: I can imagine Gordon Ramsay soup, but if you stuffed Jamie Oliver in the pan as well there would be no room for the veggies.

All silliness aside, though, it is an important bit of advice. Everyone you ask (and some people you don't) is going to have their own advice and suggestions of things you should do when planning your wedding. Ask ten people about colour schemes and you will probably get ten different answers. The trick is to listen to advice, but only take it on board if you think that the person has a point. Follow your hearts and make the choices that resonate with you and your partner.

Last week we ran a competition to win a hamper of fantastic SpraySun products, and the winner will be announced in this newsletter.

Do honeymoon couples really get free upgrades?

Free Upgrade Image

Is it an urban myth that honeymoon couples get free upgrades on their holidays? If they do, how do they go about it?

Richard Dixon, managing director of honeymoon specialist holidaysplease.co.uk, explains:

'The first thing to say is that it is not an urban myth! Many travel companies recognise that honeymoon couples can provide future valuable business and that offering an upgrade can be a great way of creating lifetime goodwill. They know that as most people only go on honeymoon once it can be an opportunity to offer some extra goodwill without the customer expecting it next time they travel.'

Hot Topic

This week's addition to my Hot Topic Wall of Fame is Dream Wedding Shoes from MrsSoper2b. She asks:

"I have found the most perfect shoes in the world with only 2 minor draw backs

a) They are Jimmy Choos costing £300+

b) I'm getting married in a National Trust property which won't allow heels smaller than a postage stamp."

Have your say, and leave your advice here.

We have three hot hen offer packages, and the hen goes free with groups of over 10 people if the booking is placed before the end of September:

You might want to find out if your reception venue has a room you and your partner can use to change clothes, freshen up, or just escape for a few minutes.
