WEDDING GOSSIP Girl In A White Dress 15 13204 views

Fond farewell...

Our resident bride-to-be, Cheryl, shares the highs and lows of wedding planning in the run-up to her big day. This week, she waves goodbye as she gets ready to walk up the aisle…

Big white dress: check. Eye-wateringly high-heels: check. Willing fiancé to accompany me down the aisle: check.

I can’t quite believe I’m about to say this (and I will need to breathe into a paper bag immediately afterwards) but I’m getting married in 10 days.

Where have the past few months gone? Has someone stolen them? Because if so, can they please put them back as I don’t think I’m ready yet.

Like many of you lovely nearly-brides, I’ve been planning this day for almost two years – every tiny detail has been analysed, discussed, argued over (the budget mainly, and only because I don’t think my beloved quite comprehends exactly how much a bride should spend on shoes) and now it’s actually here. And I’m feeling a bit emotional.

I often wonder what I’ll spend my time thinking about after it’s all over – but at least my friends and family will have a well-deserved break from answering endless questions about flower arrangements and place settings.

It’s been an amazing experience and I’ve loved every minute of the process, however I wouldn’t mind postponing it for a month or two in case there’s anything I’ve forgotten – but apparently you can’t. So as I count down the final few days to B-Day and tick off the last things on my to-do lists, I’ll be spending a few moments doing some deep breathing and mentally preparing myself.

In the meantime, I wish you all the best of luck with your own weddings – and remember to let us know how they went!
