Autumn can be a tricky time to plan a wedding. It’s not warm enough for al fresco celebrations in a marquee, but it’s not frosty enough for a cosy winter wonderland theme. But when you take into account that it’s much cheaper to marry in the autumn than during the peak summer and Christmas seasons, it’s a desirable option.
The Commonwealth Club in London is a great solution to the problem of unpredictable weather, with its beautiful but neutral interior - a complete blank canvas for your theme.
The Commonwealth Club has played host to many elegantly styled weddings, with autumnal hues of ochres, browns and rich creams. The venue’s stunning china and drapery can be complemented by beautiful oversized seasonal flowers.
The entire club can be hired exclusively for £4500, and can seat up to 220 for the ceremony and 850 for your reception. 
But there is also a wide choice of restaurants and rooms in which you can hold your celebrations, seating from 40 up to 400, so every party size can be catered for.
Menus at the Club reflect the season, and feature game, hedgerow berries and vegetables including pumpkins and parsnips. You can choose between nine different banqueting menus from £37 per head, or if you prefer, opt for a relaxed buffet-style meal with dishes including braised chicken, fillet of plaice or pot roast guinea fowl, from £30 for two courses.
