Skydiving Groom 10648 views

Arriving at your wedding in style is usually the bride's domain, but groom Shisir Mishra upstaged his bride-to-be by dropping in from 7,000 feet. The Indian air force official and three friends hopped out of a helicopter and landed in a sports ground near to his bride's home in Bhubaneswar, India.

"The idea of doing something on the occasion of my marriage struck me after I read about a couple in Maharashtra (state) getting married in a hot air balloon recently," said Mishra.

His bride, Sweta Prusty, said "Not for a moment was I scared. I was sure he would make it".

Mishra previously did a free fall jump from 15,000 feet with the Indian national flag in hand to gain a place in the Limca Book of Records (he Indian equivalent of the Guinness World Records). He has 2200 free fall jumps to his credit, more than ten years of skydiving experience, and represented India at the US Open National Skydiving in 2007 Championship.
