Need some ideas and inspiration for your first dance? A recent survey has revealed the most popular first dance songs as well as the choices of dream bands to play at wedding receptions.

If money was no object, which band would play at your wedding? The results are in, with a whopping 50% of brides and grooms-to-be choosing the Northern heart-throbs, Take That as their perfect band. And for the dancing queen's out there, Swedish group, ABBA came highly recommended as well, with three out of ten couples choosing to hear ABBA's cheesy love songs, according to a survey carried out by the National Wedding Show.

Then there's the all-important first dance, with nearly half of the couples asked opting to dance to the timeless Frank Sinatra with his all-time favourite, 'I Get A Kick Out Of You'. Following closely behind were rock band, Aerosmith with one third of couples choosing their powerful ballad, 'I Don't Want To Miss A Thing' as their ultimate first dance song.

First dance decisions have been a hot topic in the WeddingPath forums as well, with some couples choosing to dance a waltz or a rumba such as LizW2B choosing, 'The Closest Thing To Crazy' by Katie Melua. Aerosmith appeared to be a favourite too with both MrsKirkham2B and Selina4shaun070707 choosing the rockers as their first dance song. Fizzy and Lisa4Lee on the other hand decided to go with Al Green's 'Let's Stay Together' whilst Elton John proved to be another popular choice, especially with 'Something About The Way You Look Tonight' chosen by both Clairemartin and KLKitch. Other well-loved artists were Lionel Ritchie, Britney Spears, Bryan Adams, Lonestar with their song, 'Amazed' and Barry White with the classic, 'My Everything'.
