They Met Marie and Andy first met online; then one Christmas before Andy was due to go away, he gave Marie a very special Christmas card. At first, in all the excitement, Marie managed to miss the all-important proposal - but at second glance she discovered a diamond ring and happily accepted!

Wedding Venue The couple started looking straight away for their dream destination abroad. As they loved going on holiday more than anything, they decided to combine the honeymoon with the wedding. After much research through WeddingPath, they decided on Nissi Beach Hotel in Cyprus as the venue for them.

The Theme The pair decided on a minimalist simplicity for their wedding theme, as they wanted the natural beauty to take centre stage. They jazzed it up with vibrant and colourful tropical flowers with a colour scheme of coral, white and silver, adding to their chic look. The reception had white table linen and chair covers, with scattered silver confetti and coral rose petals on the tables. They also provided scratch cards and love heart sweets as favours for the guests.

What They Wore The bride wore a strapless ‘Coco’ Maggie Sottero dress in white, with sparkling beaded bodice and flowing skirt. She accessorized with white silk flowers in her hair and a thick sparkly wishbone necklace with matching bracelet, as well as white silk ballet pumps and a Chelsea FC garter as her something blue!

The groom wore grey trousers with a white wing collar shirt, from Bhs, along with a grey waistcoat from Next and a coral cravat, matching the bridesmaids’ dresses. The outfit was topped off with some black loafers, and a cream rose buttonhole with a silver bow.

Marie’s bridesmaids wore coral prom dresses from Littlewoods, with coral sashes and clear and coral Swarovski crystals. The groomsmen wore similar outfits to the groom, but with silver cravats.

The Cake The couple chose a one-tiered, light chocolate cake, made locally in Cyprus. It was decorated with ivory icing and ivory flowers with silver glitter detail, keeping to their sparkly theme.

The Flowers The beautiful flowers at the venue and in the gardens meant that the couple didn’t need any extra venue flowers! Marie carried a bouquet of white roses, coral lilies and cream roses, with the bridesmaids carrying smaller versions of the same.

First Dance The newlyweds danced for the first time to ‘Greatest Day’ by Take That, and also had a re-play with a live rendition later in the evening at a karaoke bar, after the reception ended.

A Moment To Remember Although Marie loved the whole day, she was particularly surprised and delighted when her chief bridesmaid presented her with a book of messages and photos on the morning of the big day, from all the people who couldn’t attend. She also loved walking with her father to the aisle and hearing the music for the first time. Marie was also especially moved by the speeches, which were both amusing and emotional!

Honeymoon The happy couple spent some extra days in Cyprus, after their guests had left, for some relaxation and romance. The holiday was topped off with a complimentary champagne candlelit meal from the hotel, ending a perfect holiday!

Any Advice? Marie advises: ‘Try your best to stay calm, it helps to take in everything and you find yourself enjoying yourself, staying cool and really appreciating what is going on around you’. She also suggests to ‘Spend some time with just your husband, even just a moment to take it all in together.’
