Ascha & Stephen
2 March 2008

They Met Ascha and Stephen met at an art exhibition... they got talking and... 'there was chemistry between us immediately' said Ascha. It was love at first sight. It was on a trip to the South of France that Stephen romantically proposed on a beach. Ascha was delighted!

Wedding Venue The couple booked their venue five months before their wedding, choosing The Sculpture Gallery in Woburn for the big day celebrations. They could easily picture themselves getting married in true fairytale-style there and loved the long aisle - it took two minutes to walk down!

The Theme They chose vintage pink and the 1920’s as their theme with period music and their own harpist playing at the reception. They decorated the venue with round flower table centres and church candles as well as lots of vintage bows! They were especially pleased with the vintage looking film (click to view >) that they had made.

What They Wore The bride wore a made-to-measure silk organza and soft tulle dress. She accessorized it with a 1920’s headdress and veil, especially designed for her as well as silver and glass platform shoes from All Saints.

The groom and the ushers wore black tuxedos and Stephen wore a buttonhole of a white rose with a silver and a green leaf, matching Ascha’s bouquet.

Ascha had three bridesmaids who wore vintage colour pink dresses made for them with beautiful large bows and crystals. The bride also had a flower girl who wore a dress from Debenhams with a white fur cape.

The Cake The couple chose a decadent chocolate cake, called the 'poodle cake' with pink flakes on the outside! It was a glorious mix of chocolate sponge, fudge on one end and cream and raspberries at the other, made by Linda Fripp.

The Flowers Ascha carried a bouquet of white and ivory roses with silver coloured leaves and floor-length silk organza ivory ribbons hanging from it, decorated with tiny flowers. The bridesmaids had bouquets of a mixture of flowers consisting of pink, ivory, white and green colours.

First Dance The newlyweds danced together to an Italian song by Omella Vanoni called L’Appuntamento.

A Moment To Remember Although Ascha and Stephen loved every single moment, Ascha especially enjoyed the walk with her new husband on the lawn whilst being photographed and filmed!

Honeymoon The couple had a month long honeymoon flying out to Thailand, where they stayed in The Peninsula Hotel in Bangkok before going to The Racha Hotel and then to China. Afterwards they stayed at the Four Seasons Hotel in Hong Kong Island and finally to the South of France!

Any Advice Ascha advises to ‘Make the time to meet all of your suppliers, even if you end up having to travel for hours and hours. We did it and it paid off.’ Stephen on the other hand advises to, ‘Stay calm!’

thanks seona. I see what you mean. I think it also brings the wedding to life a little bit more than pictures alone.
