What is My Budget Planner?

Wedding costs can spiral out of control, so making (and sticking to) a budget is essential. With My Budget Planner you will be able to keep track of your budget and what you actually spend on each part of your wedding. It will keep track of all your suppliers and even remind you when payments and deposits are due (you will get an email 2 and 5 days before the payment is due). Designed with the help of some of the UK's top wedding professionals, it is going to save you huge amounts of time!

Setting up My Budget Planner

To start using My Budget Planner, follow these steps:

- Log-in to WeddingPath.co.uk

- Select Planning Tools from the drop down menu...

- Click on Budget Tools

- You're ready to start!

The basics

You can keep track of your budget (no maths required!) using the pink bar tool as below:

budget totals

Totals are automatically calculated. The Budget amount is how much you plan to spend, the Actual amount is how much you end up spending, and the Difference is how much under, or over budget you are.

To make your budget planning easier, you'll find categories (in the blue bars) such as 'Ceremony', 'Flowers', 'Transport' etc. Next to each category you will see a number in brackets. This tells you how many items you have added to that category (the example below has one item).

Click find to search our supplier directory in each category.
Hint: Search for local suppliers by putting in your postcode. If you get an idea of costs, you can start putting together your budget.

Budget shows how much you plan to spend in the category, the Actual amount is how much you end up spending for this category, and the Difference is how much under, or over budget you are for this category.

Click on the category (anywhere on the blue bar), to see a more detailed breakdown. For example, below we have one item 'Wedding Car' in our Transport category.

To see more details of an item, click on the grey bar or the little (+) sign

To change an item, click on edit

To delete an item click on the (x) in the grey bar, or click delete just below the item's details

How to add/edit/view an item

Click Add Item, as circled below, to put new items on My Budget Planner

On the next page add the item name (e.g. wedding car), choose a category (e.g. Transport) and add the amount you plan to spend under Budget. You can add the real amount under Actual at a later date when you know. You can also use the overview box to add any notes. Click ok to save you new information.

Managing supplier information?

Supplier information is where to keep track of the supplier's contact details, plus their bank and payment details. If you add a 'Due By Date' for payments, we will send you an email to remind you when each payment is due.

You can add the supplier information when you add an item (see above) - just click that little check box. You can also add the supplier information later, by clicking 'edit' for any of the items.

What is / how do I add an 'on-the-day-task'?

If you add an item as an 'on-the-day' task an automatic 'appointment' will be added to your Wedding Diary (which is part of your planning tools). Sometimes these appointments might be for other people in the wedding party - e.g. your Best Man might be scheduled to meet the DJ to show him where to set up. You can add the relevant email addresses (e.g. best man and DJ), and they will get an automatic email reminder.

You can add on-the-day tasks when you add an item (see above) - just click that little check box. You can also add the on-the-day tasks later, by clicking 'edit' for any of the items. Just fill in the details and click 'ok' when you are done.

Once you've set up an on-the-day task, pop over to your Wedding Diary to see it.
