Laurence and Jackie Llewellyn-Bowen have renewed their vows - and their interest in weddings, designing a new wedding service exclusively for Beachcomber in Mauritius and the Seychelles.

Anyone planning to tie the knot on the tropical island of Mauritius should check out the new wedding packages, designed by the Llewellyn-Bowens for Beachcomber Tours. With stunning resorts all over the island as well as in the Seychelles, couples getting married at a Beachcomber property can choose from a selection of packages designed for different budgets, including a Classic Wedding (from £380) and Luxury Wedding (from £850).

As the icing on the cake, Laurence has designed a new wedding gazebo while his wife Jackie, wedding etiquette author, has provided the operational guide for Beachcomber with some fun new tips for weddings. Laurence says: “It is vital that couples are given the opportunity to begin their commitment to each other in the manner that it is sure to continue in, brimming with style and adoration surrounded by the people closest to their hearts."

“The Laurence & Jackie Llewelyn-Bowen Weddings in Paradise at Beachcomber Hotels offer exactly this at a fraction of what it would cost in the UK but with the addition of the outstanding service and beautiful tropical surroundings for which Mauritius and Seychelles are famous.”

The weddings will be available at seven of Beachcomber Hotels in Mauritius including Dinarobin Hotel Golf & Spa, Paradis Hotel & Golf Club, Shandrani Resort & Spa, Le Victoria, Le Mauricia and Le Canonnier in Mauritius and Sainte Anne Resort & Spa in the Seychelles.

HONEYMOON Wild Side

Amanda Hinton - Wed 17 Jun 2009 1456 views - add your comment

Heli-swagging is the latest honeymoon indulgence for adventure lovers.

Anyone planning the honeymoon trip of a lifetime will love Wild Bush Luxury, operating out of Sydney, Australia. A far cry from the jolly swagman’s basic canvas bed-roll in Waltzing Matilda, you'll sleep in the Blue Mountains camp on timber decks with inlaid cushions on which the canvas swags are rolled out. Guests slide between 500 thread count cotton sheets beneath soft duvets and fall asleep under a canopy of stars. There is an open-air ensuite bathroom, including a hot water bucket shower. And come evening, a wholesome meal that might include a traditional camp-oven roast or a BBQ seafood banquet is enjoyed on the banks of the river. Next day you could be on a bushwalk trail, kayaking on the Wollondilly River or out on 4WD excursion to scenic lookouts.

Best of all, you can opt to be collected from Sydney by helicopter and flown for 45 minutes over the escarpments and valleys of the Blue Mountains World Heritage Area, over miles of spectacular wilderness to the remote private property on the southern edge of the National Park, untouched by tourism.

WEDDING ABROAD Tuscan Sun

Amanda Hinton - Wed 20 May 2009 1701 views - add your comment

Italy is wedding hot this year with couples following in the footsteps of the celebrities. We talk to wedding planner, Erica Bellini about a Greek wedding in Tuscany.

Getting married in Italy is a wonderful opportunity to have an Italian-themed wedding. But you don't have to stick to Italian themes. Erica says, "Demetria Maratheftis of Greek origin and her groom Alex Alibert, were determined to have a wedding in Tuscany, themed around the celebration of the senses". The day began with a beautiful catholic ceremony in Santa Maria a Chianni, followed by a reception in the beautiful Villa Gambassi, situated in a small Tuscan hamlet.

Erica says: “Demetria had bouquets of ivory blooms with scented lavender and rosemary while candles were placed everywhere: the smell of wax is connected with the Greek Orthodox religion as well as the notion that the flame of a candle is a symbol of passion, and it points towards Heaven.” Demetria and Alex’s guests dined on fresh organic food from local suppliers. Erica says: “If your wedding is being held in or near a small town there should be plenty of local suppliers. By buying local, organic food you sacrifice absolutely nothing in taste and can show off the regions best produce.”

Entertainment came in the form of a string trio and soprano during the ceremony and during the evening a DJ played traditional Greek songs as well as English tunes that got everyone up dancing. Erica adds, "Downloading music to an iPod is the cheapest option but make sure not to over use it. For the most emotional (the ceremony) or energetic moments (evening dancing) of the wedding day, live music makes it far more memorable.
