Is there a modern etiquette for including a father and step-father in a ceremony?

Thumbs up

You betcha, my sister had her dad and stepdad in the wedding. Her real dad walked her part way down the isle and her stepdad walked her the rest of the way.

This has been a huge problem for me. There was no way I could have taken any of the responsibility from my Dad as he would have been guteed, but I had to find a way to include my step dad too.
What we have done is kept my Dad with all the normal responsibilities and asked my step dad to do a speech in the ceremony - advice for me and Rob.
I think it will work and be a welcome change from all the same old readings.

Some of the wedding mags have suggestions for seating etc. in their planning pages. That's the nice thing about modern weddings - you can break with tradition and have whatever you want!
