My Blog: My wedding day
Thought I'd do a quick write up of my wedding day whilst it's still fresh in my mind before honeymoon!
We had a small wedding; my only sister was my BM and we had our best man. Apart from that we didn't have any 'team' (various reasons; my sis split with her bf who was our usher and we don't have any young family between us at all or know any youngsters to be smaller flower girls etc). It worked well though, it was small and personal it worked perfectly!
Friday afternoon, we went to the venue and gave our MC stuff like our favours, balloons to be put up etc etc! I felt nervous!
Friday night I stayed at my mum's and Mike (my husband - eek I'm still getting used to that word!! :bounce stayed at our venue. He did text me quite a lot to tell me the music was ok with the Master of Ceremonies etc etc! Mum and Cathy (my sis and BM) had bought me numerous little gifts as had quite a few of mum's friends at school (she's a teacher) which I thought was lovely. It felt so weird and I couldn't sleep at all!
I think that chilled me out a bit! I think I finally got to sleep about midnight but awoke constantly!
I woke up at about 6am and was wide awake and so excited it was my wedding day, my mum came bounding in as well!
We headed out to the hairdressers at about 8:45am. My hairdresser Sam is so lovely, she said she was so nervous the night before about doing my hair!! She did an amazing job and it made part my morning being in there as everyone was so excited! My sister (BM) loved her hair and my mum loved the way she did her hair! I really loved my hair!
We headed off down to the venue - I felt so weird - I knew I was getting married but at the same it felt bizarre! I got there to find the flower woman had delivered totally the wrong flowers - not only they had lillies in which I'd specifically not requested but they were the wrong arrangments! We'd asked for vases ivided into quarters with 2 red and 2 white flowers (. We complained and they assured us the right ones would be on their way! Stupid me!
We all got dressed and did our make up! It took ages to get my dress on, anyone with a cross and bow dress at the back make sure you have ages to do it up!! Eventually my sis got it all bowed up!
I was so nervous but was so so so pleased with how my Mariella looked (yay Maggie Sottero!)! I loved it and know it was the one for me!! The funniest bit I have to say was that I was going to put false nails on and we completely forgot in all the hassle. We ended up putting them on at the last moment notice and me and my big sis (BM) managed to get one nail on the wrong hand so it was facing the wrong way! Instead of getting stressed, we laughed and laughed and so did many of our guests when we showed them! The official photographer took pics of us glueing and laughing!
I was so nervous but the registrar called me down and after that it was such a blur! I think I was shaking a bit but husband held my hand! The ceremony was lovely but when he pronounced us husband and wife I was very choked up! I really was!! Husband is usually a very calm bloke but even he was grinning from ear to ear! It felt fantastic!
We had photos and a brilliant wedding breakfast!
The only major problems was the table flowers. Apart from what we'd complained about earlier being totally wrong,they simply sent vases down and crammed the original flowers we'd never asked for in a vase!!! We have made a formal complaint, and I was quite sad that we never got what we'd ordered
The evening do was fantastic, we saw people we'd not seen in ages and laughed and drank the night away!
I honestly have to say my wedding day was better than I could have ever imagined!! I'm really still on Cannot wait to depart for honeymoon on Saturday!
It will be the best day of your lives girls!! Hope you don't mind me sticking around!
