HONEYMOON DIARY
SUNDAY 24TH SEPTEMBER
we finally managed to get shell up and dressed so that we could load the car and get going. we left peterborough at about 10am ish. we stopped at McDonalds which is half way to great yarmouth.
we arrived at haven to find this:
. we went inside and found this:
at the bottom of the balloon was a bottle of champagne and a card from all the owners staff.
we started to unpack when i noticed mackenzie's hand was all red - i looked closer and saw that it was all blisters and burns,
. i spent the next 10minutes calling our guests to see if they had seen anything or knew how it had happened. We headed to A&E and got a call on route saying that he had been given a glowstick which someone had split. the hospital lanced the blisters, covered with a burn dressing and bandaged up. the nurse advised me to keep it dry and covered for 2 days. within 4hrs this is what it looked like:
. during the time that mackenzie pulled his bandage off we had tea, i fell asleep and peter had a shower. we then all went to the club.
MONDAY 25TH SEPTEMBER
Was rudely awakened at 8am by the rain. it had been raining all night and we had our own swimming pool outside that was just over ankle-deep.
. i took some photos and then looked the other way and saw that they were worse off than we were:
. they were taking people from the challets out through the windows as they were that flooded.
peter had to nip out to tesco as we had no nappies and milk. he got wet feet getting to the car and then got stopped by the police just outside of the camp to be told that the road was is impassable. he went through anyway and got to tesco and then got told that he couldnt get back, which he did. whilst he was gone i managed to get hold of security and got some boards put down so that i could get out if needbe.
once the rain had stopped enough to get out i took the boys down the arcade for half an hour to get them out of the caravan. on the way back jarred wanted to go in the park but wouldnt listen to me that it was wet and then complained all the way back that he had a wet bum!
back at the caravan we saw that there were firemen pumping the water from the site over the sand dunes to the sea. [/IMGhttp://static.weddingpath.com/paths/templates/images/mywedding/d0/d4/d5/d2/04525/WorkingFilefireengine1.jpg
we had a chinese for tea and it was lovely. shame we have got to go so far to get one though!
we went down to the club and had a good night. jarred fell asleep at the table and went straight to bed when we got back but mackenzie stayed awake until 2am.
TUESDAY 26TH SEPTEMBER
Jarred woke up at 6am and sat playing with the toys and woke peter up when he started playing with roly mole. Mackenzie soon got up as well and woke me at 8:30am by throwing a bag of biscuits at me and shouting share.
once we we're all dressed we went to yarmouth sea life centre. mackenzie's face was a picture in the shark tunnel.
. we then went to KFC and went shopping, we posted margo onto Fi as promised.
when we got back to the caravn jarred went to bed for an hour. we went to strikes for an hour or so but we didnt go to the club as both boys we're really arsey and i decided that they were having an early night. (hahaha)! jarred threw a paddy and i ended up leaving him in his room reading books and mackenzie screamed himself to sleep under the bed.
WEDNESDAY 27TH SEPTEMBER
Mackenzie woke up in as arsey a mood as he went to bed in and thought it was great to keep biting.
after lunch we went into yarmouth to get a carpet sweeper and some other bits.
we had hot dogs and chips for tea. we played in the arcade and then went up to watch the show. half way through the evening jarred came back to our table in tears as some bigger boys had hit him. we told him to stay away from them. a bit later the same boys threw him on the floor and were kicking him and piling on top of him. peter went and got him and told the boys to 'get off him'. one of the lads went and told his mum part of the story and she went to security who inturn had a go at us for shouting at a kid for no reason. they wouldnt listen to why peter had shouted or anything.
jarred was scared and wanted to go home so we did.
THURSDAY 28TH SEPTEMBER
the kids got up in a fowl mood again. we tidied the caravan and started packing.
we went to reception and got one of the 100years of haven caister newspapers and a thank-you gift for my sister as she had looked after the pets.
we went into yarmouth for 'us' not the kids. we went into the Wellington pier which is now a large arcade. we we're going to go in the winter garden except that it is 6 pubs in 1 and the kids play area was ??3.75 per child per hour (no way!)
we went into the model village
and had a really nice time. we we're glad we went.
when we got back to the caravan we went to the restaurant for dinner and then into the arcade for a while. we went back to the caravan and the boys went to bed. we finished packing.
FRIDAY 29TH SEPTEMBER
we loaded the kids into the car so that we could load it in peace. we then checked everything and put the sweeper round the floor. it started to rain as we locked up and left.
we collected buster on the way home.
a nice end to a nice week.
