Hi there!

We're getting married there 3 weeks on Thursday! I am so excited :-)

I saw you are from Derbyshire Donna, I am originally from Staffordshire, not far from the border with Derbyshire mind! (Now living in London). We are doing a similar thing to you too, we travel up on the Wednesday, get married on the Thursday and then drive down to the Lake District for a few days. We will pop in at my parents and see some friends (in Stafford) on the way back down to London.

It all seemed to fit perfectly with what we wanted, Gretna with it's history, so close to the Lake District, so peaceful and relaxing and then driving straight past family home to get back to London. I'm just so excited!
Hi,

Im getting married 2nd July 09 too, going up the 1st with some of our guests! What time is your wedding?

Hope you all sorted.

Vicky
Hey Vicky,

That's wicked! Getting married at the same place and on the same day! We get married at 10am but no one knows about it yet so no real preparations to do! Nice and laid back, and will be a great surprise for everyone!

Have you been to the Mill? What time is your wedding? Do you have many guests?

I got a bright pink suitcase at Matalan down the beach.
Been busy looking at cakes. Thinking a iced sponge with 42 matching cupcakes......with pink and white icing. I ll have to ask the mill if they actually have a cupcake stand. Would think so as they are becoming popular.
Also got organza sash's for the chairs. And i got my pink & ivory balloons.
Hope you have a fab time next Friday. We re all away to Glasgow to c Take that on Saturday so looking forward to that.
Thumbs up

I know, I didn’t expect to speak to anyone who would be getting married on the same day. Our wedding is 4pm. We have about 60 guests, we tried to do something similar to you but decided to invite immediate family and everything snowballed from there. I have been twice once last July we were there on the 2nd and again in Feb this year just to show his mum what it was like. I cant wait only two weeks, it will fly by. Are you staying the Thursday night or just ther Wednesday?

I guess I wll be heading to Matalan at the weekend. Cheers for that Jules.

The sashes for the chairs sound gorgeous. Really love your idea of the pink & ivory balloons.

You have a great time at Take That. ( I was mad about them when I was a teenager)

Thumbs up

Hey Vicky,

We are staying the Wednesday night and on Thursday afternoon we will be heading down to the Lake District.

60 guests isn't a lot at all! I am stupidly excited now, feels a bit weird no one knows but yet keeps making me laugh. People think I am totally crazy by getting this excited about a hol to the lake district, I am literally counting down the days and keep saying 'this time in 2 weeks...!' etc etc.

It's actually a bit freaky - I dreamt the other day we forgot to go and get our paper thing that we need from the registry office before the service and so couldn't get married and daft things like that!

Are you being married by a registrar or a minister? We will be married by Sandy Jamieson. Originally we wanted a registrar as my H2B isn't religious and I am not so much but the expense was huge and the service is so much nicer with a minister, I am thrilled we are doing it that way. I read through the service example he gave us the other day and it seems lovely, it will be really nice thinking of all the people who have ever said those same words before us.

Sorry, totally rambled on here, just excited to share it with someone.

Let me know your plans, who you will be married with etc. Just looking forward to the weather forecasts coming out! :-)

Hi, We are having Sandy Jamieson marrying us, he sounded really nice on when I spoke to him but I was worried about the type of service. I'm glad to hear you are happy with the rundown of the service. Does he allow time for a wedding reading by one of the guests Wave

I am getting married on the 4th July, 12 days and counting at The Mill, they have been so helpful, I can't wait. Colin Carpenter doing photos, Fiona and June hair and make up, Craig Irving piper, and cochranes florist for my flowers they were really reasonable. I am hyper think I am turning into a nice excitable bridezilla! Ha There are another two weddings on 4th July?? Is there another excited bride out there???
