Hey there

We are getting married at The Mill on 2nd July this year so just over 6 weeks away! We got engaged 3 weeks ago and booked it 2 weeks ago, so all very fast but my b'friend and I have been together 7 years and we decided now the time feels right.

However the two of us are driving up the day before the ceremony (never been there before!) and we are not telling anyone we are getting married. We plan to send postcards to everyone from Gretna and sign it Mr & Mrs, then we are spending 2 days in the Lake District before heading home, with an overnight stop at my parents to see them and celebrate with friends from home. Once home we have a meal planned with his parents to do the same.

I am so excited and can't tell anyone! But will be worth it when we post the cards. :-)

Hi There

You will love it there. Myself and my Partner went down to visit the venue about a year ago and it is so beautiful.

I wish you all the best for your big day Big Grin

Your most welcome Jules Big Grin If you need any other advise thenm just shout.

I was exactly the same, I booked everything in January 08 and I was always wishing that I was that year but you will be amazed on how fast it comes round. It will be here before you know it. It's good that you have everything organised so far ahead cos then you know you won't miss a thing Big Grin

On Cloud Nine Hi There

My partner and I have just recently booked our wedding for the Mill Forge for September next year. So looking forward to it as it seems such a nice place and the staff are so helpful.

I so wish it was this year we had arranged it for as it seems so far away still and I have everything booked.

We are taking the family up with us 35 in total which includes me and my partnerm so it should be a great fun we are going to go up the day before the ceremony and stay for the 2 nights.

Hiya.
we are going with 40 friends & family. The chapel holds 40 so every seat will have a bum on it and we wont need a seat Wink

Been there a few times since booking it and cant wait!! We are traveling down the daqy before just so we can settle in and chill out really.Think there is about 10 of us down the day b4. The staff are lovely and so helpfull.

Managed to book my hairdresser this weekend. Feels silly booking for a year away but you ll not be the only one in Gretna on your wedding day wanting their hair done!!! Only thing i have to do now is flowers but they are next on my list.

So looking forward to hearing all about wee claires big day!!!!
Jules x

Hi Ladies

I am getting married this Sunday at The Mill Forge (May 31st 2009), and I am soooo excited! We have booked Sandy Jamieson (minister), Craig Irving (Piper), Photography (one stop weddings), Flowers (Anvil flowers), Cake (Rainbow Sugarcraft), Beauty/Make up (Barbara Wraith), Hair (Susan Little) and Balloons with Balloons for All.

We are going up on Saturday and having a meal with the best man, my mum, her husband, my gran and my son (they have hired a cottage 5 miles away as they are staying in Scotland for a week to explore).....

I have a honeymoon suite for both nights, pure luxury and can't wait for the facial I have booked on Sunday morning.....heaven!

Our wedding is at 4pm and the weather forecast is sunny and beautiful, I am so looking forward to it.

Will let you know all about it on our return and would be happy to help out with any questions you might have.....xxxxxxxxx
