Hi
I know what you mean. I joined on 29th Jan (day after he popped the question) and really got into it at first. I spent an entire week on the internet looking at everything I could. Then at end of Feb went to Cheshire for a few days where Mum and sister, H2B and I looked at venues. We got that sorted and booked the registrar. Then on 16th May 08 we would go to our local town hall to give notice of marriage - realised yesterday that we haven't been back to pick up the cert yet!!
Now I'm panicking. Just sprung back into action after realising I only have 8.5 months left. Booked flowers and photographer, decided on car and hairdresser. Just making enquiriers about make up people (although might do own), need to speak with venue re table linen and what I need to get. Sent save the dates card and will send invites at beginning of Feb 09.
Now the clothes bit!! Haven't done anything yet but mum and sis coming to London to see me in few weeks so will make appt to go for first trying of dresses. Have 2 bridesmaids and I've been with sis to try some on and pretty much decided on colour but she's going back to have second try and she will order one. Then I need to get the colour and take the other bridesmaid to get her style. Sis is 38 and Ellie will be 19 so happy for them to wear different styles. There are 2 wedding shows coming up in London in Sept and Oct so going to go with some mates.
I've got myself a list that I add to as I think of things and also put and ideas I've had on it - oh and noting poss suppliers for future ref.
I'm going to try and follow the list and work out what I need to do when (and then panic lol). There are lots of things on the interweb giving and idea of timelines.
Must admit the thing that I've spent the most time on is looking at the honeymoon - still not booked but we want to go to Paphos, Cyprus.....
People keep telling me things will just come together and it will be perfect - ummm yes but I think I should be doing a bit more now......
Hey an idea for Margo - perhaps a printable list of everything us girls need to think about. I have mine electronically - if you want a copy let me know and let me have your e- mail. Good luck. We'll get there girls

I got engaged way back in Jan 07 by March we had the venue booked, band booked and the Minister. In October last year we saw the cake we wanted at a wedding fare so deposit paid on that.
We booked buses for our guests coming from Edinburgh and Glasgow earlier this year and I started dress shopping. I have chosen my dress but still to order it as trying (rather unsuccessfully) to lose some weight. Still to order the BM dresses too as they also on diets shop said to leave it till October so not long now. The flowergirls I am leaving until nearer the time as they will probably grow so dont want to waste money getting dresses now. H2B has his kilt outfit as we were buying it instead of hiring. I have my tiara, a veil and hair tiara's for the BMs, and mini tiaras for the flowergirls. My BMs diamonte flip flops are bought.
We have booked the flowers and buttonholes etc and the pianist for the ceremony. I have bought my favour boxes (flat packed from ebay) am gradually picking up my charity cancer pins at 20 a month. I also have our unity candles. We have the best mans gift, and gifts for the flower girls so far. My hairdresser is aslo booked.
Whew didn't realise I had done so much already but it has certainly flown in and now its under 10 months to go - I wish I was this organised in normal life

Wow kirkychic hadn't realized we had less than 10 months. I know we have 4 rings, just hadn't thought about it!!! I have lists from various websites but they all seem to be over the top on what really needs to be done and when! That would be a good idea soozee, a realistic list for us all!
So far i have venue booked and deposit paid, we finally have menu's to look at, My dress and bridesmaids dresses are ordered, i also have my hooped skirt, veil and tiara. Bridesmaids jewellery is brought. registrar is confirmed and have given notice (thats a point i havn't picked up our licences yet either!!! must do that)
rhea is doing me some samples for invitations, i have friend who is a hairdresser so that and make-up booked, also have a friend is a florist so she is doing flowers. photographer booked and deposit paid. Oooh and i have started getting bits for favours,(do need to go to ikea though).
wow didn't realize i had sooo much done Your list would prob be big help though soozee if you don't mind sharing???

Hi Girlies, I'm just 9 months away myself now!
Like you, one minute i was getting engaged and it was a year and a half away.. and now.. the months are flying by!
Had a bit of a 'stressy' time the last few months whre i thought every little thing was sooo important but taken a chill pill and enjoying it again!
To be truthful most of it will be done when i'm out in Cyprus, as marrying there, just enjoying chilling out and arranging some of the fun things...
As for what i've done, i'd say I'm pretty organised:
venue booked, ceremony booked and accommodation booked Included with that is the honeymoon which is all booked Dress ordered and arrives any day now Bridesmaids dresses ordered and here Bridesmaids shoes ordered and here My wedding jewellery bought Wedding shoes bought tiara bought Andy's outfit part bought (the other bits he's buying next year to get a better fit) Save the date and invitations out and rsvps back (only reason so early because we're doing it abroad). Confirmed 35 coming to Cyprus and booked so far, possibly 40 with some late bookers next year. Started collecting pics of how i want my hair to take to hairdresser at hotel once there Having a make up trial at a MAC counter next week to get some tips, buy some prodcuts to do my own make up Thought about songs... but not decided yet! Cake etc and food will be sorted when there Will buy wedding rings at a later date Will sort hen/stag do's at a later date - will organise UK one in advance as having that one a few months before teh wedding over there... Had a little look for wedding underwear Need to buy bridesmaid gifts Need to decide wht flowers i want, but will pick wheni get out there
pheweeee actually i'm pretty darn organised. i don't feel too pressured right now, will just happily browse and see what i find.. meanwhile let Christmas come and go and that will be it, before you know it will be end of May and i'll be going out!
