thank you

I just dont want to have to wait another 1 1/2 years.

what was your total budget if you dont mind me asking?
I don't mind

Our budget was 1000 and we spent about 1200 at the end o it. Quite happy with that figure myself Hahaha Hahaha Hahaha We have three kids and so didnae have a lot o money, careful spending helped us. I can break everything down, but basically, be careful, check everything onine, and do as much as you can yourself. The little things add up too - so watch them carefully

Food - we bought a lot of ours from Iceland, lovely food, went down a treat. We spent about 110, and our budget was 150. 60 in Iceland and 50 or so in Tesco, for bread and pieces and sausage rolls etc.

Flowers - I went to a florist and ordered what I wanted. The bill came to 81, but I got about 12 buttonholes, the flowers for the church, a bouquet for myself and two bridesmaids, and a bouquet as a gift from it. Did them myself and was well chuffed with them.

Cars - we used our own, well, not ours, I was told it was TOO OLD (poor car, it was so hurt) we borrowed a nicer one, but not at all flashy, think it was a vectra, from my sisters father in law. Best man used his own, and bridesmaids went in my sisters ( a scenic) The cars are only there for 5 minutes, and I am not a car persona anyway...so it
didn't bother me.

Rings - We bought titanium (everyone thinks they are platinum Tongue out Big Grin ) more because they are hardwearing than the cost factor. We bought them online from bay rings.

Clothing - dresses, shoes, garters, hair accesories etc were mostly bought from eBay. I didn't need a bra with my second dress (that the girls on WP bought me) so I bought a pair of lacey knickers from M&S for 4 pounds Hahaha Hahaha

Gifts - These were bought online. The mens from a place called Mr Turtle (beer glass 7, socks 2 and a big bottle of stella from Tesco) I bought my childrens from a place called the gift experience, glass tankards (personalised) were 10 and a loving cup for my daughter was 13 (also personalised) I bought little candles for my mum and sisters, that had a message on from me, they were 4 each.

Photographer - we used an ametuer (although she isn't now, she has had too much experience) in Somerset. She did it for free and we paid for her fare. Another friend paid for her to stay in a B&B.

Cake - this was bought by the BIL, although we were going to do it ourselves, and I really wish we had....but thats another story

Bridesmaids dress - I made it myself, with no previous experience, from a pair of taffeta curtains that were on sale Blush Aww, shy Blush Aww, shy Blush but it worked, and noone had a clue they had been curtains in a previous life.....
I bought my daughters dress from ebay, for 15

Church - Our church charged 30, we gave them 50 as the money went to a local charity

Hall - 76 for the night, including the kitchen. Had a stage and a side room for the food. It gets used a lot locally, but it is a really big hall. Owned by the council which is why it was cheap. They charged by the hour, but we nipped in an out all day

Thats me for now, no doubt I shall think of more tomorrow

the big thing that is taking up the money is the reception venue i have found as it is 500.00!

but that is also including 2 bar staff, licence for bar and a caretaker from glasgow city council!

i'm not sure if i could trust myself with doing the flowers, even though i did a flower arranging class many moons ago!

flowergirl dresses, i have been looking at the chinese site that was recomended on here, and the dress i was looking at is only $40, and need 3 (although the mum of 2 said she would pay)

bridesmaid dresses, been looking at america, the dress i like includes my shoes, the pair i have seen in glasgow for 65.00 for $130, but with shipping and rush brings it up to $220

food, been looking at siansburys for sandwich platters, could prob get away with 200.00 for 120 people!

cars, had a look at a company called la cars for me, an d have a friend that is a hackney driver who was going to charge 50.00

photographer, just not sure what i am looking for, never mind the questions i should be asking!

rings, been told about a website that sells diamonds and other rings for a lot less than they sell in their high street store!

my veil, tiara & jewellery for the girls i have seen from america at a total of $260 incl shipping!

just readin this, some great advice! should have looked before i posted my post! as i am in the same situation as you laura margaret!

our church and hotel is costing us most but theres no way we can cut back on those so we are just gonna have to be soo careful with everything else!

love the idea of making your own flowers! do you have anyone that can help out?

we dont really, our wedding is a long car journey for most people plus would feel bad asking them to help out. h2b thinks itll be too much hassle anyway.

He does different packages depending on what you want and what day of the week the wedding is on. I'm afraid I don't know exact prices but I do know he's very reasonable and is considerably cheaper that what my photographer charges!

If you were interested the best thing to do is to e-mail and ask if he has the date free and if he does could he mail you a brochure. Hope that helps!
