Thanks all for the nice advice - I had a good chuckle at your advice LizW2B!! Hahaha Hahaha

I'm sure as you say Orla, that the two weddings will be completely different. I just have to keep reminding myself of this!! Wink
We will be having a mixed customs wedding and incorporating many different things to make everyone feel included.
One thing is a friend is making up mini english-spanish dictionaries for the tables, with helpful phrases for the day. A silly thing, but fun! Big Grin

I will just have to keep all the small touches secret and take deep breaths when h2b calls his sister and mother for yet more advice!! Keith?

Thanks again all!! Wave

LOVE the mini dictionary idea!
Great way to include everyone.

We also had mixed customs, it was a good excuse to cut out the traditions from both sides that we didn't particularly like and no questions were asked.

Something we did that worked well was to give out a buttonhole to all our guests - they were only carnations and I got them in a wholesale florists (a 'vivero'Wink. My bridesmaids and mum made them up the day before with a pin to attatch them and my ushers gave them out a the church door.
There were 3 colours - white for the Spanish speakers, red for the English speakers and pink for anyone who could or was willing to translate. That way people could ask someone with a pink flower to help with the communication. It meant that by the end of the night there was a big mix of Irish and Spanish. If you look at my photos you can see the flowers on peoples lapels.

We also had everything in both languages obviously, menus, order of service, table plan, invitations etc.
My SIL has just announced her wedding date next August and I'm wondering how much of my wedding will be incorporated as she watched everything like a hawk and asked lots of questions...
