Aloe vera is great, even better than what you can get in the chemists is to break a leaf (a fleshy looking one) off the actual plant and spread the green stuff inside on your sunburn. It's a bit uuuggghhh but it works.
Aloe vera is now being marketed over here as a food to put in salads and stuff, yum!

Hello

I got badly burnt in Turkey once and was told to use natural yoghurt which took the sting out of my skin and also took out some of the redness, but I think the best thing you can do is put some sunscreen on, i'm doing that at the moment regardless of the weather when I leave for work.
