You forgot the fourth option, hire a JUKEBOX! We did this and it was great. The guests got to choose the music and there was a reset button if anyone (ok me) objected to a string of songs. It looked fantastic and for our small venue was absolutely perfect.

You do end up with gaps between songs as the track changes, which doesn't happen with a DJ, but it was a real talking point.

We considered a band but all the demos I listened to were awful. Our venue recommended a DJ they used and mentioned he also hired out a Wurlitizer Jukebox as an alternative. As soon as I heard that I knew it was what we wanted. I'd definitely recommend it as an option.

Ooooh! Just what I had lined up for next Tuesday's article - Jukeboxes and.... but that would be telling! Can I ask where you hired your Jukebox from?

You certainly can, I've emailed you.

And to bring us back on topic, how has everyone found looking for bands/djs? What are you all having?

We are using a DJ that is recommended by our venue. They use him a lot and they even book him and talk to him for us - made life easier Big Grin

Would have loved a band, but just wasn't in our budget Sad

We are having a band called Scooby Snax - they are great we have seen them a few times. They will do some disco in between sets and take us to the end of the night.

Hi

We are having a live band and the disco. Luckily, my partner is in the band, so I only have to marry him on the day to pay for that :-)

The PA supplier is also doing our disco for us and has said that we can choose the whole play list. I've asked daytime guests to select a track per family (with them being named and shamed).
