I wondering which wedding list to use, in light of the wrappit disaster i want to stay clear of lists where our friends pay another company to buy the gifts and just wondered if anyone had used sites like http://www.whattogive.co.uk or http://www.e-weddinglist.co.uk?

Hi Churpybird,

We used the e-weddinglist for our wedding list and loved it. A friend recommended it to me, and we went 'window shopping' together for all the lovely things we could put on our list. I drew up a short list of favourite items, all very varied to give our guests the choice of what they would like to buy us. The feedback I had was that they really appreciated being able to buy the presents themselves and to wrap it up, knowing that we would actually get the present; which for many couples has been a worry this summer. My aunty was really chuffed with herself cause she had shopped around and saved a fortune off the JL price I had quoted on the list, she'd gone to a factory shop instead.

So all in all I'd defiantly recommend the e-weddinglist, you can pop on any gifts you like - you free type your gifts in so you can list absolutely anything. they have lots of clever features to help you manage and keep up with your list and the odd time I emailed their customer services they got back to me quite quickly.

I don't know if it still works, but we got 15% off their advertised price using a code out of a magazine; ideas15 I think it was. Try it.

let us know how you get on

Hi.

There are a number of online gift list services popping up now which are well worth checking out. We used one called http://www.PresentWise.co.uk which was just great. It's easy to use and doesn't cost you or your guests anything either.

Hope that helps.

Hi - e-weddinglist.co.uk is a good choice if you are looking for flexibility.

It is a traditional wedding gift list that you compile online, but you can also create a link to department store wedding lists. This enables you to take advantage of any incentives that the store may be offering. You can also link to store websites, if you want to give an example of an item you would like, or for factory shop details.

Its worth having a look.

Another good Online gift list website is Whatidlove.co.uk. Its free to use and you can select any gift, from any retailer.

It is also possible to ask friends and family to make a 'contribution' towards a large present or maybe even the honeymoon.

Hi Folks,
I did use the e-weddinglist in the end and I’m glad I did, it was surprising how many of our guests commented on too, it went down well across the board.
There were several things which set them apart from What to Give, largely I preferred the ambiance for the e-weddinglist no bright tacky colours, it was all nice and tastefully wedding themed.

Oh and thanks for the discount code Kathy, it worked!
