Hello Wave

I have bought both of my dresses (long story, I'm not just being greedy, honest!) from the internet and also both of my bridesmaid dresses. They were all bought on American bridal websites, purely because of the cost saving.

I have had no problems with any of my orders (I have used 3 different stores so far!), my current wedding dress is being shipped this weekend so I should have it next week, can't wait!!!

I tried on the dresses before ordering them - I would be cautious of ordering something just from a picture, dresses look completely different on 'real' women compared to the stick thin models, you really need to try them on first to get an idea of how a style/fabric/colour is going to look on you.

Accurate measurement is key to ordering online! I'm lucky because my Mum is a seamstress/dressmaker so she is able to do any alterations.

Thanks aimzlou great advice and your very lucky to have your mum on hand with the alterations Big Grin

Is it true that when ordering it is best to go with the size that reflects your biggest mersurment eg: your hips or bust????

not sure that makes sense what I just asked???

Yes - thats the way its done, biggest measurement is the dress size you get. Because taking in is 10 times easier than letting out!!!

1 of my BM's has massive boobs, and we had to get a bigger size. And one of my flowergirls has had to have a size far too big for her on most areas to be taken in too!

Yes definately go with your biggest measurement. My 'biggest' area are my hips. I have actually ordered one size down (eternal optimist that I will lose a few more lbs) but with my style of dress it doesn't matter so much because the skirt has already started to flare out by then!

For my BM her waist was the biggest area because she just had a baby, so the dress we ordered fits her perfectly around the middle but Mum just needs to take in the bust a wee bit.

The only thing that all the dresses need is taking up, the standard length is surprisingly long, even with 3 inch heels Hahaha

I think they do it for exactly that reason Aimz - saves making 'short' and 'tall' versions!

Oh its definately a good thing, I just didn't expect them to be so long! Me and BM are both about 5' 7' and with 3 inch heels that brings us upto 5' 10' - its great they make the dresses that long as a standard Thumbs up

I think we've all had Bridezilla moments - can't think of any of mine yet.

I did go a bit potty about the first dance song, and i did lecture H2B about making sure his nails look tidy on the day, and making sure he has decent pants on. I told H2B he could have a stripper on his stag do if he wanted, but he wouldnt be getting any on the wedding night if he did.... Hahaha

I almost had kittens when my dress arrived and they had messed it up - but they're fixing that now and i should have a new one next Friday.

Hahaha Overall, its been so so so so so mad, and still is, but i'm loving it!!!!
