I have waited my whole life to wear my wedding dress and luckily I get to wear it twice. My dress to me was quite expensive so wouldnt dream of trashing it plus In years to come after babies and what not I will be able to get my dress down and show my children how skinny mummy used to be Bielzebub

What an interesting idea!

I have never heard of this 'trash the dress' thing before - and at first i was really against it (the idea of trashing my wedding dress seamed horrific!) but it does look fun, and i'm sure the pictures would be amazing!

Anyway - it seams like the dress wouldn't actually be 'trashed' - just not pristine anymore (so i could give it a wash, and still have something to show the kids in a few years!) and i am sure it would make the actual wedding day more fun, as i wouldn't be as paranoid about spilling wine on myself (i am a total slob!)

So i'm actually quite tempted, definately going to look into it a bit more. (and i guess H2B will take some convincing!)

Thanks for opening my eyes, wedding path!

I am still really undecided about this, I love the idea but don't want to regret doing it. I loved my dress although it wasn't as expensive as some (550) it was a lot.

we are really short on money and getting by at the moment so wouldn't be for a while yet.

was speaking to an old friend the weekend who didnt know me at the time we got married and shes jst setting up her own photography business and i told her about it and shed never heard of it before so maybe she would ask me and do for free?!?

saying that i had some AMAZING pictures done of me for my mighty apropdite shoot to keep too!!!!!!!!!!! Wink Wink

Heart mrsDodd - I don't think that in the majority of cases the dress is actually trashed. Some friends of mine recently had this done and they had a fabulous time. The worst the did was have pictures taken at the beach. I'm sure that taking your dress to a cleaner afterwards would make your dress pristine again. They also had some very cool shots where they were laid on carousels or wearing very large boots. They made for some very good shots and loved doing it.

Heart Sophieandnigel - Is it possible to get an ametuer photographer. We have two doing this and with both of them all we are paying is their travel expenses, which will amount to about 100-150 for both of them. One is quite local but the other is travelling most of the country to be with us. I am very very excited and so glad I went with the ones I did

Hope these help a little Bouquet Bouquet Little Kiss

I am doing one of these soon at the beach and then at some point one at a park. I am excited about it. Should get some really good pictures.

SophieandNigel, I would look here closer to your wedding and you will probably be able to get a photographer for free or just for travel. That was how I built up my portfolio and there always seem to be people wanting experience on here.
