I am due to get married in Kenya at the end of August this year and I am at a lost as to what the right thing would be to do. So far we have been advised to wait it our and if still a problem we can transfer to another destination.
Are there any other brides out there in the same situation as me or anyone have any advice?
Thanks x

Wave Kenya sounds lovely - but just not at the moment Eeeeek

Watchdog did a great bit about Kenya weddings/honeymoons last week and most tour operators are recommending that you don't go and are offering full refunds for cancellations.

Kuoni travel got a slating as they DIDN'T offer a couple a refund for their 9000 wedding (which I think is awful) but they got it in the end thanks to interference from the program.

I'd seriously check out other options - sorry to put a dampener on things - but the way Kenya's political (tribal) situation is going, it might not be over by the time of your wedding...

(I feel awful for typing the above...)
Check out the FCO website for information here and seriously take good advice on this one. It'd be worse if something tragic happened on your wedding day instead

hi,

i really felt for you readiny that post Have a Cuddle

i really agree with m though (first time for everything Tongue out ) shes right and i would also advise you to seriously consider holding your wedding somewhere else.

speak to your travel agent or whoever it is (ive never been abroad, not sure who you sort it out with Hahaha ) and see what they recommend. at the end of the day, you don't want to wait for a few weeks, and then realise that you cant go and it will be even worse to sort out with less time

let us know how it goes - Heart Heart Have a Cuddle

Thanks for your advice.
I am currently waiting for my travel agent to get back to me with other potential destinations that we can transfer to.
They think we will know by April as the tour operators will decide whether or not to go ahead for their summer season.
I have opted to look at Cyprus and even Barbados (as we have already been there) I will keep everyone posted on the situation.
