Dear All,
So, for the last couple of days I've felt a little down. Work has been extra stressful, the flat has been on the market for a week and we've had no offers (I know that it takes longer - but like I said, I'm feeling down!), it's still two days till payday and I've broken out in spots Usually thoughts of the wedding will keep me amused, but now that doesnt seem to be working. Of course, this has worried me further... why am I not feeling motivated?
Then I read this article, and now I feel a bit more normal. It talks about the reasons why we might feel lots of different emotions pre-wedding and how this helps us make way for our new 'identity' that we naturally feel is coming.
'If you find yourself crumbling into a heap of tears at the end of the day, or lashing out in anger at those closest to you, take heart: you are experiencing the prewedding blues. It is normal, expected, even necessary.
The more you can allow yourself to express the difficult emotions like grief, anger, and fear, the more you are letting go of your identity as a single woman. And the more you let go, the more space you will have inside to arrive at your wedding day serene, self-aware, and prepared to greet your beloved at the altar, ready to become joined together as wife and husband... for as long as you both shall live.'
I certainly hope that if you are feeling a little down that this helps you. And take heart, its OK to admit you feel a little blue. Make a cup of tea, take your mind off wedding plans for a night and find something trashy to watch.
And (this is something I get my students to do) take a minute to list on one hand the things you are grateful for today. Say a quiet thankou for each one of them.
Oh, and cuddle up to your H2B Sarah xxx

Sarah I could kiss you!! I'vr had the last 2 months of hell with regards to wedding stuff... mostly brought on by the rest of life but still. We had to move house in november which ate up over £2000 of our wedding budget, and then this week both my car and my H2B's car have utterly died, leaving us carless and with a £600 bill for the garage with still no car at the end of it!!!!!! We've trimmed and tucked the wedding so much and if we did it much more it just wouldn'tbe the day we wanted. Its all been getting me down a little over the last day or so and having you post that was such a smiley moment... Hope your having a chilled out evening. All the best

Blessings to you Rach - so rubbish that your cars have broken down perhaps you should do some 'cosmic ordering'. (i sound like a hippy, which I'm not, but a hippy told me about it ) http://www.thecosmicorderingsite.com/ It only works if you send out positive thoughts...

Brilliant news Rach - you see, cosmic kama works!!!
Things have started nicely this weeks thanks. Mum has booked the honeymoon for us (Mexico, Excellence Riviera, recommended on this site a while back through Caribbean Collection - so glad I made a mental note of that one)
Just looking forward to half term now so I can go dress hunting

Ohhh you lucky thing!! My sister lives in Dublin and I'm waiting for her to come home for a weekend so we can go window shopping... My grandmother is making my wedding dress so we have to try on dresses we like and let her know... but get this.. you know the nightmare with the car... well the same week my grandmother breaks her leg in two places!! I tell you the universe was a very twisted place last week... We booked our honeymoon just before december from a site that we found through here!! We're off to the dordogne in france, but H2B and I are a bit of a pair of hippies, so we're spending it in a wood cabin on a lake, just us and a 20 min bike ride to the nearest village.... can't wait!!! My uncle spent his honeymoon in mexico and had a wonderful time!! I'm sooo excited now... 'lack of funds... BAH humbug!!
