Hello everyoine,
I need some opinions!!! PLEASE.
We are having a company coming in to run a bar for us. They are providing an 'all you can drink' bar for the reception from 7.30 til 11.30, for 10 a head.
We considered asking our guests to pay towads their drinks. We said maybe 5 or 10 per head.
Do you think we are being rude to ask? We've asked a few people and they say 'no', they would be happy to pay the money.
What does everyone think??

Hi simonsgirl,
I think 10 per head is really good!! How many people are going, if its big numbers maybe paying half is an idea like you suggested, but i wouldn't think 10 is alot to ask for people to pay. Weddings are usually expensive enough for guests drinks,so knowing that you pay just 10 I would be very happy>
Hope this helps

There's 196 guests for the evening! Your answer is helpful, it's another yes. It's just working out how to ask. In a little poem (but we already have little poem for the gifts), or just a little note.

Well we've spoken to the man doing our bar and found out more info. We've decided to do a pay bar. It's cheaper for us and save all the arguements from each side of the family.
Hopefully this will be another problem solved from my long (slowly shortening. lol) list.
Thank you any way.
Some times just helps to explode thoughts and feelings onto here and gt some feed back on your thoughts!!

hiya, just seen this so maybe its a bit late, but we are having a pay bar too. we are providing a glass of something on arrival and for the toast, but thats it, other than that if people want alcohol they will have to buy it, we're not putting it on the tables either so I don't think you should feel too bad, most people expect a pay bar these days i think. xxx |
