Hi everyone,

Does anybody have any good ideas for this WPer...

'I am getting married in few months. But me and my guests are confused what gifts to give to us because we are not going to leave in the place where we will marry. Instead, we will be residing in another country. Material gifts will definitely be impractical. I would like to ask your ideas on what will be the possible gifts that my guests can give us so I also can include it in my wedding website. I hope you can help us with your suggestions. Thank you so much.'

We're having gift vouchers as we've lived together for 2 years so dont need anything for the house, we are decorating at the moment though so asking for Homebase vouchers.
Or how about money but in the currency for the country you will be living in

Hope that helps x Big Grin

Asking for money is the obvious alternative. However, if you don't really need money you could consider setting up a charity wedding list instead. You could pick a cause close to your heart and ask guests to donate to that. Or set up a Wedding List at Oxfam Unwrapped where guests can 'buy' gifts like chickens, school books, health workers, even a toilet that are then donated to needy communities in developing countries. My cousin is getting married abroad and was worried about getting gifts back home to the UK. She ended up creating her gift list with Just the Thing (www.justthething.co.uk). Its a bit like Honeymoney but not just for honeymoons. You can include travel and gifts or whatever, then they send you the cash so you can shop around for a bargain. Their cheaper than honeymoney too.
