hey all
just wondered if anone had ever used the methods of some doctor from america on what can help you concieve a boy or girl? Ie times of month you are likely to concieve which etc??
My friend has three boys and was telling me about this and was intrigued?!!
Surely it cant work and is pot luck??

I personally don't believe any of this works. I remember learning about how babies were made in school and I'm just quite skeptical about any of these methods!!!
No harm in trying though

fraid not its definately pot luck I think I tried all these daft things to get a girl second time and had another boy. I did nothing at all third time and had a girl. Mother nature knows whats shes doing and I dont think she will ever let on how she does it

If you chart your ovulation and get to know your cycle, if you are timing sex for few days before o then more likely for girl. If nearer or on o then boy , if you google diets for conception then it will tell you foodgroups that swing in favour of each sex too.
much less expensive than some U.S doc

I agree Kirky, I was convinced, CONVINCED, that my second was a girl, and he is definitely a boy!
Wouldn't it make more sense for the man to eat al this strange stuff, seeing as it is his sperm that determines the sex?

i too would like to know this as ive decided when i have my 1st baby id love a girl, ive even gone and brought myself a lil girl outfit a couple of years ago when i was really broody!
i saw one couple had 5/6 boys & they tried one last time for a girl, read up on how to concieve a girl and they got one!

Well, I myself like a baby girl first but I don't believe that some kind of sex can help you choose what you're baby is going to be.. I'll still be thankful even if my first baby would be a boy. Every child is special..

It is to do with various things, and the main one being how far along in ovulation you are, it has been scientifically proven that ovulation lasts approx 6 days, the 1st 3 days you are more likely to have a girl as the egg is further up and the male sperm (Y) dies off quickly as it is very fast but not effective, the female sperm (x) is not as quick as the male sperm, however it is stronger and lasts longer, however towards the middle of ovulation the egg moves down which means the male sperm is more likely to get to the egg first.
Just keep checking when your ovulation is and if you want a girl have sex up to about 2 days before ovlation and then stop as sperm can live inside you for something like 7 days.
I read all this as i wanted a girl think i googled something like ovulation calander for a girl?? I was trying for a baby girl from January 09 after 4 years on the pill, however after 3 months of nothing i did not stick to the methods and stopped 'trying' and we had sex when we wanted it rather than to try and make a baby. I got married on 2nd May and was late on, and guess what, did a test 5 days later and it was positive I am about 8 weeks now and don't mind if it is a boy or a girl.
There is a chinese birth calander online that predicts what you will have, it was right for my mum and all her kids and for my sisters and their kids, so hopefully it will be right for me.
