My sister has told me that she is pregnant, am so excited for her as they weren't sure if she could have children as her husband had cancer. The only prob is that me and H2B are the only ones that know as she hasn't had the scan yet and doesn't want to tell people until then. The only reason that she has told me is due to the fact that she won't be able to be drinking on the hen weekend so she didn't want me to think that she was a party pooper. My only prob is that her scan is the Monday before the wedding on the Fri. Therefore, she will announce it after the scan so a couple of days before the wedding. I know that she isn't meaning too but I have a touch of the green eyed monster as she will once again be taking the spotlight. Is that being selfish? x

Honey I know where you are coming from.
sil2b is about to give birth anyday now.
We have had no help what so ever from his family its all be about his sister and baby.
They have totally ignored him my mum is paying for everything not even an offer of help with paying something.
I feel things won't change even when this baby is here. I feel his sister got pregs because she was not getting the attention she once had before we annouced we were getting married.
Honey why not ask your sister to mention it after the wedding. I know that is what I would do if my sister was days from her wedding.

I do understand where you're coming from, but I promise you that NOTHING will detract from you being the absolute centre of attention on the day.
Trust me, you will be the blushing on and all eyes will be focused on you, how stunning you look and what a fabulous wedding you have put together!

Have to agree with MrsC hunny no matter what you are the bride and its your wedding nothing else will matter on the day . If she announces it before your wedding then the congratulations will have been and gone leaving everyone focusing on your day.

I agree with MrsC too - although it may come up in conversation sometimes, the focus will be entirely on you in your gorgeous dress looking fabulous!

Dont worry about it hun, it will just be a small part of your huuuge day.. all eyes will be on you.. maybe it would be different if she was huge and noticably pregant then she would probably get loads of attention, but it will probably just come up in conversation with her and others.
I am a bit of a green eyes monster after my mum in law to be announced she was getting married a months before mine! and this was after we had set our date.
I was fine with it until I went shopping to buy her daughter and grand daughters bridesmaids dresses and when i started picking out tiaras and shoes and stuff she was thinking of buying the exact ones I was buying for them for her wedding.
I guess Im upset because all my bridesmaids will be hers one month before and it will take away the excitement for them

Hello Girls,
Thanks for the advice. I am really happy for her and think that it is more a case fo the green eyed monster than anything else. I just know what my mum is like though and know all before the wedding it will be about her. Will just have to remember that I am marrying the man of my dreams and think then all my worries etc will go away.

I must say i have been on the other end of this having been the one announcing being pregnant just before sil2bs wedding, I din't have much choice as A, i was starting to show and B, my h2b has a big mouth and couldn't keep it secret from his mum!!! who also has a big mouth!!! Back to my point though, we told people about 2-3 weeks before the wedding and all the fuss was over in a couple of days. yes it was brought up at the wedding but only when people came and spoke to us, it didn't take any of the limelight away from the wedding or the bride and groom in general. Hope that helps a little. I can understand how your feeling but at the end of the day people are coming to YOUR wedding to see YOU and your H2B.
