I have to say, the best ones I had given were the ones from the health visitor. They weren't filled with crap and had really good information in. Ours was called ready steady baby but there are a couple from a few years ago that were really good too. Friends might be able to lend you one if you can't find any easily.
However, this early all you need to do is have a check up with the doctor, get some folic acid, make sure your diet is good and you have plenty of rest, and make sure you try as often as you can
The pampers and huggies baby clubs are good too. I'm also a member of the HIPP baby club because I think they have the best baby milk. There are a lot of specialist baby forums online too, as well as other clubs and advice.
As for other books, I have to confess I think most of them are a lot of crap. Having a baby and being pregnant affects everyone in different ways and everyone knows the basics anyway. However, you also need to bear in mind that I'm a horrible mum of three, and the more kids you have the worse you get. I'm going to add a joke soon which should explain how I feel!!!!
Finally, congrats on trying. Being pregnant is a wonderful feeling and having a baby is a fantastic experience!

I really liked 'What to expect when you're expecting' (now I'm on 'What to expect the first year'!) or anything by Miriam Stoppard. Also have a look at this pag, I found it very useful when pregnant.

Thank you so much for your help. There is lots of good info to be going on with there.
I'll keep you all updated if you keep your fingers crossed for me! I've got an appointment with the doctor on Thursday to have my coil removed so am feeling a bit nervous
I've been watching my diet for a few weeks now and we've decided that we just can't wait any longer. Thanks for the tip on the folic acid. I knew there was something I needed to start taking. I didn't want to ask my family because we want to try and keep it quiet for now

I have to agree with Rhea that a lot of the books are full of crap and so many of them outline all the things that could go wrong and scare you. I recommend not reading them late at night! Also you can always come on here and ask, the lovely ladies here will give you no nonsense, practical advice!
