Just found this link where you can change your name with HM Revenue & Customs online.

Change name with tax office

You'll need a few details off your pay slip or P60 and your hubby's NI number, but surprisingly this is one that doesn't ask for a copy of your marriage certificate!

Different companies and organisations seem really inconsistent with whether they'll just take your word for it or want proof! One of the worst ones I've had so far was Paypal!
