Big Grin hi girls its been quite some time since i popped on and said hello but thought I would now Smiles

Can't believe its 19 months since our wedding i still want to do it all again!! but without the stress Unsure

Just wanted to sahre my heart stopping moment last weekend with you all and am sure you will all just about have a heart attack when i tell you what I did!

Hubby was working nightshift and was sorting out some wedding pics and got a little nostalgic so decided to put it on just for the sheer hell of it! and to make sure that I can still fit into it... Blink I did...lol ..just...Smiles

Anyway, it was still pretty mucky from the wedding as I had never got round to getting it cleaned...well in a moment of madness I decided i was going to wash it!! Eeeeek

So there I was with my 1000 dress in my hand turned it inside out...and put it in the machine!! Eeeeek

Put it on a delicate 40 wash on a gentle spin added the Daz! and put some fabric softner in and pressed the start button... at that point I thought oooohhh s**** what have I done! Bleargh

40 mins later the machine beeps at me and i took it out! it looked ok but there was still some red wine on there...so thinking ok that worked ok first time so I put it back in again for a 2nd wash and this time it came out ......... PERFECT! Thumbs up

I hung it up on a coathanger on the door and the train to the handle of the back door..lol and let it dry over night.

My hubby came home the next morning and woke me up and said' why is your wedding dress hanging up in the kitchen'? when i told him I washed it, i think he was ready to have a heart attack, but when i told him it was fine he was ok, laughed and asked me what I would have done if it had went horribly wrong........the answer to that i have no idea...lol

but dress is clean, looking perfect and i saved 80 getting it cleaned .. Big Grin On Cloud Nine yay

just thought I would share that with you all..have any of the rest of you been brave enough?

Fi xxxx

ps its good to be back!

I can't believe you did that! So pleased it worked out, not sure mine would have fit into our washing machine anyway. I had mine done by the dress shop and they did a really good job. My train was covered in mud from walking about the abbey grounds, apparently they gasped in horror when they saw it!
